It's no secret that I am a big Alison Mosshart fan. Everyone who knows me will vouch for this, I literally cannot get enough of her!
The leather jacket wearing, chain smoking, female counterpart to Jamie Hince in The Kills and part of supergroup The Dead Weather, she is currently one of the best front women out there. According to Jack White 'no one can touch her', and I'm not going to argue with that!
For me a big part of her appeal is her stage presence. When she performs, quite often her face barely visible under her hair, she controls the stage and is incredibly magnetic, so much so that it's hard to concentrate on anything else. She is the epitome of pure rock 'n' roll and as far as style goes she's got it in abundance.
Alison's wardrobe revolves around certain staple items, some of which she will wear for a whole tour. Loose fitting tee's (sometimes ripped), skinny jeans, worn-in battered boots and some animal print thrown in. It all sounds pretty simple and would be slightly boring if it were anyone but her, but she makes it effortless. The best thing about her look is how it reflects her lifestyle and attitude. This isn't to say she's not aware of the fashion conscious, after all her favourite gold boots are made by Dior, but she wear's what's comfortable for her. She isn't afraid to look dishevelled and be seen wearing the same outfit twice and that's what I love about her.
With new Dead Weather material surfacing (a new album, 'Sea Of Cowards' due in May) and a fourth Kills record in the pipeline, we'll be continuing to see a lot more of Mosshart in the near future and that can only be a good thing.
